New York Technology Fast 50 Companies Experience Average Revenue Growth of 3,044 Percent
NEW YORK, Sept 20, 2007 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Satellite technology pioneer Sirius Satellite Radio tops the list of the fastest growing companies in New York as recognized by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP at an awards event held this evening at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The New York Technology Fast 50 ranks technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies headquartered in the state by percentage revenue growth over five years.

The 2007 New York Technology Fast 50 results reveal a number of other interesting industry trends.
Technology Fast 50 companies are selected based on percentage revenue growth over the five years from 2002 to 2006. To be considered, Technology Fast 50 entrants must have operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and at least $5,000,000 in 2006; be headquartered in New York; own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of its operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.
A special category called “Rising Stars” recognizes the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies based on revenue growth over three years (2004-2006). The Rising Star companies with their percentage revenue growth over three years are: SpeechCycle, Inc. (1808 percent) and Articulate, Inc., a repeat Rising Star winner (269 percent).
